The Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences (IAS) department at Montana Technological University is seeking applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Political Science or equivalent social science starting the fall semester of the 2025/26 academic year. This position is campus-based and will begin August 18, 2025.
In addition to engaging in scholarship within their field, the successful candidate will teach general education courses in the social sciences with a focus on political science, government, and global cultures & development, depending on the candidate's areas of expertise. The successful candidate will be able to integrate AI technologies into their instruction and scholarship. The normal teaching load for this position is 9 credits per semester. These courses typically range from 15-25 students per class.
The IAS department serves the General Education needs of the MTU campus and offers two multidisciplinary majors. The successful candidate will also advise a portion of IAS majors. Additional responsibilities could include, but are not limited to student recruitment, course creation, curriculum design, and student success efforts.
