The Medical Sciences division at the University of Oxford is a global leader in biomedical and clinical research and teaching, comprising 17 departments supported by the divisional office. This new position of Head of Assurance will play a pivotal role in driving excellence in compliance, governance, and risk management within a complex regulatory landscape.
The Head of Assurance will lead the development of a more integrated approach to governance, risk management, and compliance across the division, bringing together and developing existing teams and creating effective working practices by engaging a wider group of relevant professionals. You will enhance the division’s ability to identify, mitigate, and manage risks whilst embedding a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and positive engagement with governance and compliance activities. Working closely with senior stakeholders and departments, you will provide strategic leadership, foster cross-departmental collaboration, and oversee the effective implementation of policies, procedures, and change management initiatives.

This is a permanent, full-time post, however part-time will be considered at a minimum of 0.8 FTE.

£64,228 to £74,191 per annum, with discretionary range to £80,913 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) : Grade 10
