Estates Services plays a vital role in developing and managing the University’s complex estate, from iconic listed buildings to innovative research and teaching spaces. Our Capital Projects team oversees a substantial portfolio of capital investment and improvement programmes. As part of this, the Estates Finance function supports strategic decision-making, ensures robust financial governance, and leads transformation in how capital finances are managed and reported across the University.

About the Role
As Head of Capital Projects Finance, you will be the senior lead for capital finance across the University’s estates portfolio. You will support the delivery of financial strategy and reporting, lead a high-performing team, and provide expert financial insight to senior stakeholders involved in major investment.
Working closely with the Director and Head of Capital Projects, you will build business cases, support investment decisions, and take the lead on consolidated financial planning and reporting. You’ll play a key role in strengthening our use of financial data, dashboards, and forecasting tools to enable better decision-making.
About You
We are looking for someone who can bring:
- A recognised accounting qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
- Proven experience in capital management, management accounting, or financial planning
- Excellent communication and business partnering skills, with the ability to work confidently across senior leadership groups
- A strong grasp of technical accounting, reporting, and the ability to drive continuous improvement through data, systems, and transformation
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to support and develop a team

£55,636 to £64,228 per annum (with a discretionary range to £70,029 depending on experience)
