The Department of Political Science at Gettysburg College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning August 2025. The successful candidate should have a commitment to teaching in the liberal arts tradition. The department seeks candidates in the subfield of American Politics specializing in judicial politics. The successful candidate will teach an introductory course in American Politics and upper-level courses in judicial politics. The ability to offer a research methods course will be considered a plus, but is not required. The teaching load for this position is the equivalent of six courses over the academic year. Visiting faculty are eligible to apply for travel, teaching, and research funds while on the faculty at Gettysburg College.
