ABOUT US
RICHeS is the UK’s Research Infrastructure for Conservation and Heritage Science. It represents a long-term commitment of £80 million from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), to support excellence and collaboration in heritage and conservation science.
To deliver this exciting new programme, AHRC has established the RICHeS Infrastructure Headquarters (IHQ) to support the team in managing the programme on a day-to-day basis. Based in Daresbury, Cheshire, the team is responsible for managing the investment, engaging with the heritage science community, and measuring the impacts of the investment. Some of the key activities for the team include supporting grant holders, designing and delivering future funding opportunities, managing the RICHeS subdomain website, and capturing programme- and project-level impacts.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The RICHeS Operations Officer will be a vital and active member of the RICHeS team, providing essential administrative, operational, and financial support to ensure the smooth running of daily processes.
This exciting role supports the effective delivery of the RICHeS programme and helps the organisation achieve its goals in heritage and conservation science. The successful candidate will have the opportunity for travel, professional development, and the chance to learn more about the heritage science community and the wider research funding landscape.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with managing office operations, including maintaining documentation, filing systems, and supporting green initiatives to help create an organised and environmentally friendly workspace. This includes supporting colleagues in advocating for more sustainable and low-carbon ways of working within the RICHeS IHQ.
- Support compliance with financial and administrative procedures to maintain transparency and accountability. This also includes supporting procurement activity, as well as conducting pre- and post-panel application checks.
- Help coordinate internal meetings and external events, including taking minutes and organising logistics, to ensure clear communication and smooth collaboration. This also includes managing shared email inboxes and calendars and ensuring the effective and appropriate storage of documents.
