World-leading university is seeking a Senior Developer/Analyst, to contribute to a newly developed digital strategy and help drive innovative practices in digital education.
The Role
The role is based within the Learning Systems team within the Teaching & Learning Portfolio (Information & Digital Group) at the University of Warwick. A growing, adaptable and forward-thinking team, focused on staying ahead of emerging technologies and evolving educational needs.
Following the launch of a new digital strategy and a recent internal restructure, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the future of digital learning at the University. Your work will shape the learning experience for thousands of students and support the adoption of innovative practices within a supportive, and collaborative environment.
You will play a key role in providing technical leadership for the ongoing development and operational support of the University’s core Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and auxiliary systems, with a direct impact on the student learning experience.
This role involves delivering technical expertise in the development, integration, and support of these platforms — troubleshooting issues, implementing fixes, developing new features, and collaborating with both internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure a reliable and consistent service across the University.
The Person
- Recent and strong working and technical knowledge (plugin development, integrations, etc.) of Moodle VLE and Echo360 and auxiliary tools.
- Knowledge of up-to-date development methodologies including Agile, version control best practice, test driven development, continuous integration and change control.
- Experience with PHP, CSS, JavaScript, NodeJS and jQuery (E) (Python desirable), and implementing REST APIs and designing REST based APIs.
- Ability to communicate complex technological information/issues across a wide range of audiences with differing technological know-how.
