Research and External Engagement (REE) is a new integrated service dedicated to driving forward the University’s ambitions for, research, innovation, skills and enterprise. This professional service works to support our students, drive research excellence, upskill and reskill the region’s workforce, strengthening relationships and engagement with our alumni, business and community partners.

The Civic and Inclusivity team within REE will develop and deliver the University’s civic and social impact ambitions, identifying opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration with regional government, civic and community partners. The team will develop and deliver projects and activities that create social value, inclusive growth and opportunities for all, enhancing student and staff experiences through community engagement, voluntary action, and enterprise-driven social impact.
The Civic and Community Engagement Coordinator will develop and deliver impactful partnerships with civic and community organisations across research and innovation, skills and enterprise. They will work to deliver high quality partnerships and outcomes that enrich the experience of staff and students, support inclusive economic growth and reinforce the University’s commitment to inclusivity and civic & community impact.
About you
You will be a self-motivated and collaborative professional, passionate about civic engagement and social impact. You will have experience in working with communities and charities, developing partnerships with community and civic organisations, and have a strong understanding of how universities can contribute to inclusive growth and social impact.
