Would you like to be enabling research at the frontiers of physics by helping academics navigate the challenges of research funding?
The Department of Physics is looking for a talented Facilitator with a passion for science and an eye for detail to join the research facilitation team supporting our academics and researchers.
This post is permanent and full time.
The successful candidate will coordinate the preparation of research proposals working with researchers ranging from those just starting an independent career to senior academics. Building close relationships with specialist administrative colleagues across the Department and wider University this role will assist those developing our Departmental strategy and communicating the impact of our science.
As well as being heavily involved in academic applications for external funds you will also support schemes such as fellowships and our reporting activities for REF2029. You will encourage applicants to explore new ideas, identify suitable funding opportunities and provide advice supporting our responsibilities around Trusted Research and Open Access.
If you have a science degree, can present an argument clearly and can win the trust and confidence of a wide range of people, we can help you develop the knowledge and expertise to play a crucial part in our research mission. You will also have some experience of working in a complex organisation with a number of simultaneous projects and deadlines. A wide range of training and development opportunities are available, both formal and informal.
