Competitive Salary, 12-month FTC
Oxford Brookes University is a modern and forward-thinking institution rooted in, and connected to, a city with a rich history of culture and learning. We focus on providing high-quality teaching, delivering impactful research and offering an excellent student experience.
We are now seeking to appoint a Pro Vice-Chancellor (Educational Partnerships) on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This senior leader will play a pivotal role in advancing and delivering our strategic ambitions at a time of energy and momentum for the University. The appointment is being made on a fixed-term basis as the University, under the leadership of our new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Helen Laville, undertakes a period of review and reflection on its long-term structure and priorities. This role will ensure that educational partnerships remain at the forefront of our strategy during this transitional period and that momentum is maintained on critical initiatives. Professor Laville has joined a community in good health, buoyed by strong strategic decisions over the past 18 months and a successful round of recruitment this year. Together, we are looking ahead with confidence and purpose.
This is not a business-as-usual appointment. The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Educational Partnerships) will work with pace and determination to define and strengthen the Brookes edge in partnerships, developing new ways to extend our educational reach, diversify our portfolio and income streams, and enhance our international reputation. Accountable to the Vice-Chancellor, the role will lead the University’s UK and international partnership agenda, building and nurturing relationships that deliver tangible impact. The postholder will also represent Oxford Brookes with authority and credibility on the national and international stage, ensuring our partnerships strategy underpins the University’s financial sustainability and global footprint.
We are seeking an accomplished and credible leader with a strong record of developing and sustaining partnerships in higher education, both in the UK and internationally. You will bring significant senior leadership experience, the ability to think strategically and influence at the highest levels, and the confidence to represent Oxford Brookes externally. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious leader to make a substantial and lasting contribution in a pivotal role.
If you have the vision, experience and leadership qualities to help us define and deliver the Brookes edge in educational partnerships, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Closing date: noon on Friday 26 September 2025.
