About the role:
Are you passionate about education, events, and making a real impact on future students' lives? We’re looking for a organised and people-focused professional to help shape the future of student recruitment at the University of Plymouth.
As a key member of our Outreach & Recruitment team, you’ll:
- Design and deliver inspiring events both on campus and virtually, that connect with students, parents, teachers, and advisors.
- Lead priority recruitment projects, bringing creativity and precision to every detail.
- Build strong relationships with schools, colleges, academics, and partner organisations.
- Support students in making informed choices about university life.
This is a fixed-term contract up until 1st September 2026, covering maternity/adoption leave within the team.
To ensure we maintain a safe and supportive environment for everyone we work with, this role requires:
- Enhanced Adults DBS clearance
- Health surveillance with our Occupational Health team

Working Arrangements:
This is a hybrid role - you’ll be based on campus 3 days a week, with the flexibility to work from home when business needs allow. You’ll also need to be ready to travel and occasionally work evenings and weekends to support key events and outreach activities.
What we’re looking for:
This role is perfect for someone with a background in teaching, training, outreach or marketing communications, who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will also bring:
- Experience in customer service, admin, and event planning
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including presenting with confidence
- A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong relationship-building skills with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Numeracy and literacy at secondary education level (or equivalent demonstrable experience)
- Educational attainment at higher education level (or equivalent demonstrable experience)
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and databases
