About the role:
We are seeking a proactive, organised, and service-focused Campus Experience and Switchboard Coordinator to lead and manage reception and switchboard operations across our student and commercial campus accommodation receptions.
This is a pivotal role within the Campus Services team, responsible for ensuring a welcoming and professional front-of-house experience for students, guests, and visitors throughout the year. You will oversee the recruitment, training, and performance of both permanent and casual reception staff, manage key service processes, and play an active role in enhancing the overall student and guest experience.
The role also includes responsibility for the University Switchboard, ensuring enquiries are handled promptly and professionally and internal systems are kept accurate and up to date.
About you:
- Lead day-to-day operations of student and commercial reception services across both Campus Hubs.
- Recruit, train, and manage Reception Assistants and Supervisors, maintaining rota coverage and service consistency.
- Manage enquiry handling systems (including shared inboxes), ensuring timely, effective responses and issue resolution.
- Oversee check-in/out processes for students and guests, maintain accurate records in bedstock systems (e.g., Kx or Opera).
- Support group and guest bookings during the summer period, coordinating with the Campus Experience Team Leader.
- Manage the University Switchboard service (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm), ensuring accuracy of contact information and professional communication.
- Collaborate with ResLife, Campus Infrastructure, and wider University teams to deliver a cohesive experience for all service users.
- Maintain front-of-house procedures, digital content accuracy, and compliance with the UUK Code of Practice.

This role is offered on a full-time (36.5 hours per week) permanent basis, with weekend working required on a rotational basis in accordance with a 5 out of 7 day schedule.
