Join our Careers & Employability team as an Enterprise Coach, where you'll empower students and graduates to build their entrepreneurial confidence, launch freelance careers, and deliver real-world creative projects. Through creating digital content, delivering workshops, and coaching students, you'll play a key role in preparing students and graduates to succeed in their freelance or entrepreneurial careers.
About the Role
As Enterprise Coach, you’ll support students and graduates to develop entrepreneurial skills and confidence through one-to-one coaching, extracurricular workshops, in-curriculum sessions, and digital content. You’ll collaborate with colleagues on the Careers team and directly with academics to create learning opportunities that support and enhance the curriculum across departments. This is a varied and hands-on role that combines planning, delivery, and relationship management to support student success.
About You
Essential:
- Experience providing one-to-one advice or coaching on self-employment, business startup, or freelance work to a diverse range of individuals.
- Experience designing and delivering career education resources, workshops, or learning activities, particularly in an enterprise or employability context.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of self-employed, startup, and freelance sectors, alongside excellent interpersonal and IT skills (including Microsoft 365).
- Strong relationship management skills with the ability to collaborate with academic and professional service staff, as well as with external partners.
Desirable:
- Experience working in or with a Higher Education or Further Education setting, particularly in employability, enterprise, or careers education.
- A formal qualification in advice, guidance, or coaching (Level 6 or above), or a willingness to undertake one.
- Experience working in or with creative industries or freelance project-based environments.
- Familiarity with widening participation and inclusive education strategies, especially related to employability or enterprise.
- Experience coordinating or supporting student-led projects or initiatives that involve real-world delivery or external stakeholders.
